Why
Why devote a website to the hymen? I have spent a number of years working with the problems and traditions surrounding this greatly-coveted membrane. I regularly receive inquiries from young women and professionals looking for advice and information. This site is for them.Furthermore it has become increasingly clear to me, that a more systematic effort is required if we are to document the extent of these problems and begin alleviating them.
The objective of NewHymen.dk is to render the power of the hymen visible, along with the extent of the problems surrounding hymen surgery in Denmark and internationally. This website is intended to help women as well as professionals, while providing the greater public with a focal point for debate.
I wish to exhort politicians, professionals, and other agents, including the relevant authorities, to address the issue of hymen reconstruction and take a stance. I hope this website will help make that possible.
Hymen operations do not need to be banned, they need to become superfluous.
This website is an independent initiative and NewHymen.dk intentionally receives no funding from political agents, associations, or foundations. This means that NewHymen.dk is free to deal with these issues without considering any particular interests. The site is financed by my appearances as a speaker.
